Our first day as a family in our home. It went really well. Sofie and I finally rolled out of bed at 10:00 am. She woke up in the middle of the night but I went and brought her into my bed and all was well then. She at least started sleeping in her bed. Ainsley woke up at 8:00 am and slept all night. You can't even tell that she has any jet lag at all. She was so happy to be playing with all the kids in the cul de sac again.
Sofie had a nap today in her own bed and slept for 2 hours. She has again started the night in her bed so hopefully that will last tonight. I felt not too bad today but I am tired now. The jet lag is really taking a toll on Jim...he is tired :(
We have been very lucky so far as this has been a fairly easy transition. I do realize that it could change at any time though. We will keep our fingers crossed.
The flights home were not too bad. We went from Guangzhou to Seoul then to Seattle then Minneapolis. Sofie was happy on the flight from GZ to Seoul but had some issues on the Seoul/Seattle leg. It was a very turbulent flight so they kept making me wake her up to buckle her up......really...and then they would turn the seat belt sign off 5 minutes later. The stewardesses got to hear Sofie's lung capacity up close :) We figured out at the end of the flight that she was afraid of the dark. Every time she would wake up, she would start screaming which would result in several Korean Air stewardesses coming over to help you, in the dark, which would terrify her even more....fun fun fun. As soon as they turned the lights on at the end of the flight for breakfast, she slept soundly and didn't even move. She even slept through landing in Seattle and becoming an instant US Citizen.
Ainsley lost a tooth in Seattle as we were waiting to board the flight home!! Something gained something lost :) She came running up to me in tears while we were at the gate waiting to board. A very nice lady in line behind us came up and gave her a dollar for her tooth and told her that the tooth fairy just flew by. I don't know if she bought it but she likes her money so she said thank you and took it.
Day 2
Last night was a rough one. Sofie only slept in her bed for an hour and then she tossed and turned all night with me. Every time she awoke she would begin crying and it would take a while for her to settle so needless to say, I didn't sleep much. For some one so small, she is also a huge bed hog!!!
She is still terrified of the dogs. At least she is curious about them, just as long as they are no where near her!!
Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteMei is also freaked out about the dogs. Both of our kids got some bug and have fevers and not sleeping very well. Hope our life's will go to normal soon.
Again it was nice to meet you guys, although in the last minute. Both of your girls are beutiful.
Eva
